Dabu Print

Dabu Print is one of the resist printing styles of hand block printing practiced in various parts of India. A paste comprises of clay, lime and gum used to print on clothes by wooden blocks then keep it in Indigo blue dye. EcoFab is working with the dabu printers involved in natural dyeing of clothes in Tarapur village of Madhya Pradesh. There are two to three color combinations available in natural dye in Dabu are Indigo, green and yellow. Now a days natural mineral dye “Kashish” (Iron sulphate) is also in practice by various craftsmen to get grey to brown color shades.

EcoFab successfully added a new shade using herbal pink dye using manjishtha (madder root) along with indigo base on modal fabric.
