Tarapur print contains a variety of design patterns including geometrical pattern and even 2 blocks are sufficient to draw a single pattern unlike Nandana where minimum 3 blocks are used to draw a single design pattern.

Late Purushottam Jhariyaji got state award from MP government for his work developed this technique of alizarin printing & Dabu printing on the fabric today marketed as Tarapur Print. Today his son Pawan Jhariya & Banwari Jhariya continuing the tradition without compromising the process.

In this technique fabric first printed with syahi begar (traditional Red & black color) then dyed with Indigo using Dabu resist for blue background. To get green and yellow shade, indigo dyed fabric again dyed with pomegranate peel dye.
